EWB Danzig 1915 Reworked? or bubba

Hello! Newbie here with ww1 guns

Looking to pick up this 1915 Danzig rifle but its looks like the stock has been sanded and the action has been re blued. I feel like i read somewhere that EWB guns were re-worked but i don't believe to this extent. Is it even worth it to buy?
Will be meeting locally to inspect. Says the bore is 7/10. That is all of the information i currently have.
What should i be looking for?
He is asking $1.7k and has already come down to $1.3k

I will be getting more pictures what should i be asking to see?

Sorry first timer here and after looking at all the refence pictures it just looks to good to be true. Thoughts?

I'm leaning towards calling this one Bubba. I would pass if you're looking for a WWI original Gewehr 98 as the receiver and bolt should be bright or "in the white". It almost looks like the buttplate is blued too which would make me run like hell away from this one. The price is rather steep for a gone over rifle and there doesn't appear to be any sign of a German depot rework on this one that I can see. I would ask for pictures of the stock serial number behind the rear sling swivel, the bolt numbers, buttplate, barrel bands, barrel and receiver markings, any other stock markings, etc. This link is an example of an EWB marked Amberg that got updated/reworked into a Gewehr 98M, note how the Imperial acceptance is still rather strong on the stock.

Based on what I'm seeing it's a hard pass at that price.

That said, I"m basing it off some terrible pictures.

Possibly reworked in the 1920s. Before the 98m conversion process for the new s.S. sights were done.
