Sporterized kar98 info appreciated please

Recently purchased kar98 with Israeli proofmarks? Star of David? Possibly a Czech lion? Under the serial sort of looks like an 'e'
Have not removed scope mount to look under it at the receiver as weapon is not yet in my possession. The receive was not ground flat to house the scope mount which is good.
I am hoping for factory and year under there or maybe a big Czech lion?
I know the scope sucks but it may be a Japanese lens. Is a metal housing. Unsure. Any info on that would be good.
Is converted to 308 norma mag. Sort of a muzzle break has been milled into the barrel tip.
The finish has been completely defaced which is a shame. Be nice :)
Any info or thoughts on this would be much appreciated guys. CheersK98k-.308-sporter10-scaled.jpgK98k-.308-sporter10-scaled.jpgK98k-.308-sporter2-scaled.jpgK98k-.308-sporter9-scaled.jpgK98k-.308-sporterz-scaled (1).jpgK98k-.308-sporter5-scaled.jpg

Postwar produced Czech k98k that was sold to isreal. Some of these postwar czech k98ks had wartime produced german parts, like the bolt in the rifle above. The isrealis had 7.62 nato barrels put on these rifles. Obviously this one was bought for cheap back in the day and sporterized.

Thanks for the response John!
Seems about the same as the info and somewhat of back story I've been given.
Any insight to the star proof with the backwards 'c'? or the 'y' in a circle stamp?
The far left stamp looks somewhat like a small Czech lion proof but possibly peened out.
Also the 4 digit serial without a prefix or suffix being original or not.

Either way was purchased cheap from a dealer here in Aus with plenty of 308 norma rounds
and will just be a range toy

Cheers guys

The thing that looks like a backwards C is the hebrew letter nun and is an IDF inspection stamp. The y-looking one is the hewbrew letter tsadi and is the IDF property mark.

Right, thanks very much. I had seen the 'nun' before on other weapons searching around.
The 'tsadi' did look abit different to the ones I had seen though.
The scope and mounts will be coming off for a clean when it arrives so maybe some more marks to reveal.
Appreciate the identification fellas. Thank you
