Amberg 1917

Hi All,

This is another one that I’ve had for several years now and documented it like garbage. Anyway, it’s a common late Amberg, just in uncommon condition. Amberg made it into the ‘y’ block in 1917. This one was probably made 3/4 of the way through the year. Amberg had wonderful consistency from beginning to end, I would venture they maintained the highest standard of fit during 1918.

Wow, that's a beauty! I'd love to find an example like that for myself, I bet it looks even better in person. The stock and markings are awesome!

What a gorgeous rifle Sam! From the metal to the stock, it's all great. Your photos really do it justice.

Is that a depot bolt? Amberg too maybe?

Thanks Alex, the bolt is actually an unnumbered armorer’s spare that I slapped in it. It came with an ‘x’ block Amberg bolt from 1917. I have it in my parts drawer ™️.
