Purchased this late 1943 Mauser HT a while back. Bases are completely milled through unlike ‘43 Mauser HT 37075k. Kind of neat to see the simplification of the turret system from “Low Turret” to transitional to full “High Turret” configuration. ‘R’ proof is present on tang and proof is present on front base.

Rifle is 100% matching including a period recycled & renumbered ring AJACK.

Solid example and as stated, recycled scope.
The instances of recycled scopes seem to be increasing and would be interesting to look into what was going on at that time.
Obviously, the scope was separated from its issued rifle and then paired up with another rifle.

What are the telltales that it is a 1943 and not a 1944? Noted it has the late type rear barrel band.

Georg, the main telltale is that the SN is only placed on the receiver. Early in the 1944 ‘k’ block the SN would be on the barrel only while later in the ‘k’ block they switched the SN to the receiver with a SN w/ no letter block was added to the barrel.

1943 rifles will only have the SN on the receiver.

Great HT , I specifically like the use of the recycled Scope . It has a nice used look to it as well . This is the only fully matching example that has a recycled scope that I am aware of with original number ground off and new rifle number applied . Nice to see such an example (y)(y)(y)

Well, then maybe there was more than one run with recycled rings, since the two I know are so close serial numbered that it cannot be coincidence.
