I was gifted a collection of rifles which included a pair of 98 Mausers. I am not well versed in Mauser’s, so I thought it prudent to survey as best I could and ask for help assessing from those who are more knowledgeable than myself.
I’ll post the Danzig in “The Imperial era” forum.
I have included a brief description and I believe I have documented pretty thoroughly with the photos.
Thank you in advance.

All parts appear to be matching with the exception of the cleaning rod.
The action screws are in good condition. They have clearly not been removed in a very long time. I tried to remove them, but did not feel I could do so without damage.
I removed the butt plate. Internal red paint was good with flaking, Butt marked 6 3 43. Which I interpret as Friday of 3rd week in January 1943.
