Finish and condition also play into it. I wouldn't pay $1, 000 for an Amberg that didn't have decent finish left on the barrel and crisp stock markings.That's helpful. I don't own the rifle yet but will have a chance to buy it for $1000. Just trying to figure out if that's a deal or not. Good wood and stock markings, brass trigger guard, all matching with cleaning rod. I don't recall seeing any unit marks on it.
