I have a BYF 43 that had the Stock Cut down and sanded heavy. It has the exact same wood grain. I was also confused by the grain but it’s definitely Walnut. Ours might be from the same tree lol. I plan to splice it back together with a Yugo Stock I have (not pictured) that is Walnut...
