qve45, yes the mount matches. Local vet shot the former owner of this rifle in a tree after a few men were lost. He was given the rifle by the guys a
north sea. The rifle is not 'M' proofed. Note the very old, very thin varnish like coating on the wood. From what I have seen, some 98ks issued in da
proof mark or manufacture mark
