Thanks AJS. You have excellent original gear. Obvious correct dou. 42 / dou. bolt font. It’s dramatically different from the Gunboreds blessed dou. 42. Not even close.

Any chance you can get a very clear pic of the bolt root so i can post it over there? The “9” is the difference maker.

The distinction is so clear and obvious that if after a review of this thread one still believes that bolt is not humped then you’re wasting your time with them MG. It’s a wrap.

The metal has clearly been, at a minimum polished and touched up with new blueing in the area of the numbers. It has a very different patina from the rest of the bolt.

His post was a little more directat calling out the people blessing that rifle than mine was though.

Yes Ham. His 9 nails it. It's nothing like the 'big head' 9 on the bad one.
Also in your post #24, that first side shot of the bad bolt shows how soft or shallow the gutter on the bad bolt is. Comparing it to the known good ones posted by ajs and Bruce it is VERY apparent.

The entire thread on gunboards has suddenly been deleted. No warning, no explanation, just “poof”… gone.
This pic and my reasoned post why it’s been humped… was just too much, I suppose. I really hate this kind of censorship! Like it really pissed me off. It wastes my time and it takes away from learning and hurts potential buyers! A stark reminder of why I essentially left that forum to begin with.

I literally can't say I'm surprised. I looked late last night and everything was up and und*cked with. If you ever wondered or were on the fence about what they 'stand for', this is pretty damning evidence. At a minimum, they collectively have ZERO interest in anything that even smacks of honesty, objectivity or debate. ZERO.
At a minimum I can hope that they're following or aware of this thread. The equivalent of rubbing your puppy's nose in his poopie so at least there's that.

Well now I actually am surprised! When I made the above post based on previously seen actions I figured it was gone for good. IF it really is back up and stays without further censoring, bans and other mod nonsense I will say I'm impressed and it would be a postitive step forward. Maybe someone over there had a change of heart? Time will tell if this is a new trend or a one off.... or if it even holds.
