QVE 45 K43 a buddy picked up this weekend.

My buddy picked this rifle up off of a gentleman he had talked to in the spring at the same show. The guy claimed he had got the rifle from his grandpa.

I disassembled the rifle Sunday at the show, and took the pics, everything is numbers matching by electro pencil, that I could see, and from what I can tell, and the resident german rifle expert in the show said it looks 100% correct and right. The previous owner had shot a box of Remington 8mm through it, and other than that it looked almost unused. Bore is bright, shiney, and strong.

Wow, really nice, don’t see them come out of the woodwork like this anymore. Sniper marked on the stock to boot. He did really well, congrats

He actually told the owner he shouldn't sell it, that it needed passed on, to a heir or something. But the alas he wanted to sell, and when he said he'd do $2500 I looked at my buddy and said "GET THE CHECKBOOK"

Only thing it is missing is a front sight hood, anyone have a lead on one of the taller hoods for the K43, be it repro or original??
 
Nice! Just needs a sight hood. This is a late model K43, yet it has an early milled bolt housing. I wonder if milled parts were still in rotation with being installed??

Was told by the "expert" at the show this was the case of the Lubecker guns made in 45. I guess there was a overrun of milled housings so they used up what they had.

Super gun...milled housing..un-messed with stock and Zf marked on stock...put a nice a mag in it. :thumbsup::happy0180:
 
The serial suffix in this rifle, is it a c? I have a hard time reading that damn cursive script.

So this was indeed a sniper then huh? That's pretty cool.

Yes it is a C block and yes it is a sniper rifle. Or at least it was intended to be. I guess one could make the argument that unless the matching scope it found we may never know. However, other all matching QVE snipers in this same serial number range have been noted with the ZF K43 stock marking.

And yes, I think it is very cool.

So the original scope, of course would be marked ZF 4 K43, but would the serial on the scope match the rifle or??

Buy this time in production the mount has the rifle serial number and the scope serial number is only on the scope. Early rifles are a little different.

Thanks for posting the rifle. Everything shown is absolutely correct. I always liked the “ZF K.43” stamp on the stock. That rifle is late c block and they only went to f block at the very end. The milled bolt action covers are also neat; some call these “G.41 action covers”. The milled ones are what collectors like to see. This one may not have ever had a front sight hood installed. You’ll have to see if the rails at the front sight post are clean or are they jacked up from where one had been and was removed. Or, the rifle may originally not have had one, then one sloppily put on and off. Hard to know for sure, but check the rails and see. Did the rifle have the spare parts and manual in the butt stock trap?

Anyway, very nice rifle to look at. Hopefully, that was the last box of ammo that will be shot through it. There aren't too many nice and correct K.43’s out there. Shooting them eventually will cause problems and damage...guaranteed. It’s a gamble shooting them. Might do just fine for the next few hundred rounds, or the next round could be the one to do it in. Shooters usually have a shooter’s kit installed to prevent damage.

The rifle you posted and mdarnell19’s rifle isn’t too far away from each other by serial number.

Only thing found in the buttstock was a sliding external cover for the later action cover, not one of the internal dust covers like that one on the rifle.

As far as the hood rails, it had no scratches or wear up there so maybe it never had one?
